Langdon Lantern Pendant Medium Blackened Brass

The Langdon Lantern Pendant is cast in brass and finished with a blackened patina, built for hallways, kitchens and entrance halls with the ceiling height to take a proper piece of ironwork overhead. At 51cm tall, it has the scale to hold a double-height space, holding its own against a stairwell or an open-plan kitchen rather than disappearing into it.

The blackened brass carries a deep, worked-over surface that catches light unevenly rather than gleaming, so the pendant reads more like reclaimed streetlamp than showroom fitting. With four lamps set within the lantern frame, the glow comes through layered and warm rather than flat, throwing shadow through the ironwork onto the ceiling and walls around it.

It takes four E27 lamps, 40W maximum each (not included), giving enough scope to run it bright for a working hallway or dimmed low for evening. The chain drop adjusts up to 2,640mm, so it can be set to suit anything from a standard ceiling to a genuine double-height void. Rated IP20, it's built for indoor use only, and given the weight and wiring involved, we'd recommend installation by a qualified electrician.

The brass frame catches and holds the light rather than merely reflecting it, and the open glass panels let it spill outward in every direction, softening as it falls across cornicing, brick, or timber. Seen from below on the stair, the lantern reads as a piece of furniture for the room as much as a light source.

Takes four E27 screw-fit bulbs (not included), up to 40W each. Hung on a 2m chain that can be shortened to suit your ceiling.
