Langdon Lantern Pendant Large Blackened Brass

The Langdon Lantern Pendant is a large-format fitting in solid brass, finished in blackened brass with an aged, variegated patina, designed for kitchens, stairwells and dining rooms with the ceiling height to take it. At 611mm tall and 404mm across, the shade alone has the presence to anchor a stairwell or a double-height kitchen, hung on an adjustable 2000mm chain that gives a total drop of 2650mm.

The patina is deliberately uneven, so the brass catches light differently across its surface — darker in the recesses, warmer along the raised lines of the frame, giving the impression of a fitting that has aged in place rather than arrived new. Lit from within, the lantern form throws soft vertical shadows through the shade, the kind of glow that settles a room rather than filling it.

It takes four E27 Edison screw bulbs (not included), and is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch, so the mood in the room can shift from working light to something quieter in the evening. The fitting carries an IP20 rating, suitable for dry interior use only. The ceiling rose measures 140mm in diameter, and as with any substantial pendant, we'd recommend installation by a qualified electrician.

Part of Soho Lighting's Langdon collection, designed in the United Kingdom and finished in blackened brass. It is a considered, weighty fitting rather than a delicate one — at 9.5kg, it wants a ceiling and a room that can hold it, and that honest heft is precisely what gives it its character.
