The Glasshouse Opal Pendant pairs a polished brass cap and chain with a thick moulded opal glass shade, built for spaces that call for a single considered fitting rather than a run of downlights — a dining table, a stairwell, a hallway. At 58.4cm high and 32.5cm across, it has the presence to anchor a table setting without crowding it.

Opal glass is the opposite choice to clear: it takes the bulb's output and softens it into a honeyed, even glow rather than leaving a visible point of light, so nobody sitting at the table is looking into a filament. The geometry is Art Deco in spirit but held back from anything ornate — the brass catches ambient light along clean, disciplined lines, and the piece reads as considered rather than decorative.

It takes one E27 screw-fit bulb (not included), up to 40W. Rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms and earthed to Class I. It hangs on a 3m brass chain that can be shortened to suit your ceiling, giving a maximum drop of 363cm — low over a table, or run in sequence along a hallway. The ceiling rose measures Ø13cm.

At 7.9kg it is a substantial fitting and the ceiling point needs to be sound; we'd recommend installation by a qualified electrician. Made by Soho Lighting and finished in polished brass only — a single deliberate choice rather than an oversight.
