Frith Brass Opaque Pendant

A compact opaque glass pendant from Soho Lighting's Schoolhouse Collection, 32cm across, with a solid brass cap and chain. Smaller and plainer than the Glasshouse, which makes it the easier one to use in a group of three or five above a worktop, or singly in a small room.

The glass is thick and handblown, cast from Soho's original moulds. Opaque rather than clear or opal, so there is no visible filament and no glare at all — worth knowing if it is hanging at a low drop over an island where people are working underneath it.

Polished brass is unlacquered. It can be left to darken into a muted aged brass over the years, or polished occasionally to hold its honeyed colour. The same pendant is also made in lacquered aged brass and polished nickel if you want the finish fixed rather than changing.
