Henley Fluted Globe Glass Wall Light

The Henley is a wall light built around a fluted glass globe in a brass frame, from Soho Lighting's Glass Library collection. The least expensive wall light we carry, and the one that reads as most ordinary until it is lit.

The glass is handblown and ribbed rather than smooth, so the globe breaks the light into vertical lines instead of showing it whole. Fluted glass on a globe does something a flat shade cannot — the refraction curves with the surface, so the pattern shifts as you move past it.

The arm is adjustable, so the globe can be angled rather than fixed facing out. In a hallway that means light along the wall rather than into the eyes of anyone walking towards it.
