The Claridge Wall Light is built for a very particular job: casting a warm, directed pool of light over a book or a favourite painting, rather than filling a room indiscriminately. It is made from solid brass throughout, giving it real weight in the hand and on the wall, and it suits a hallway, a study, or either side of a chimney breast where a picture deserves its own light. Fixed at reading height beside a chair, it holds the kind of settled presence that makes a room feel considered rather than simply lit. The polished brass surface takes on the room around it — a cool, almost silvery gleam by daylight, shifting to a rich, golden warmth once the bulb is lit in the evening. The arm and shade are shaped with the restraint of a period design, so the fitting reads as an object in its own right even when unlit, and the light it throws is narrow and purposeful rather than diffuse. It takes a single E14 small Edison screw bulb (not included), which lets you choose a warmer or cooler colour temperature to suit the room.
